Yes, today we are going to be sharing some recipes for desserts that are not only delicious and quick to make, but also FRIED! And we all know that fried desserts are the king of all desserts, so let us not waste any more precious time and dig right into the recipes.
1. Deep-Fried Cookies
Regular cookies are great…. but deep-fried cookies are even better! This is a quick recipe when you have kids over and wish to spoil them with a unique, tasty dessert. Feel free to customize the batter by adding a hint of cinnamon or vanilla extract as per your preference!
Prep Time: 25 minutes
Makes: 6 to 12 cookies
Ingredients
- 18 Oreo cookies
- Oil for deep-fat frying
- 1 cup biscuit/baking mix
- 1 large egg
- 1/2 cup 2% milk
- Confectioners’ sugar
Method
- Gather the Oreo cookies along with 18 wooden skewers. Insert an Oreo into each skewer, ensuring that the pointed ends go into the Oreo filling. Freeze for about an hour until they are all firm.
- Heat oil to 375° F in a deep fryer or a deep iron skillet.
- Place your biscuit mix in a shallow bowl. Separately, in another bowl, mix the egg and milk. Combine this mixture into the biscuit mix, whisking until moistened.
- Dip the Oreo skewer into the biscuit mixture, making sure that all sides are coated. Shake off the excess.
- Fry the cookies in the oil for one to two minutes until they turn golden brown on all sides.
- Drain the excess oil on paper towels and sprinkle some confectioners’ sugar on top before serving!

Ingredients
- 1 large egg
- 1 tbsp water
- 1 tube (16.3 ounces or 460 grams) large refrigerated flaky biscuits (8 counts)
- 2/3 cup Nutella
- Oil for deep-fat frying
- Confectioners’ sugar
Method
- Whisk the egg with water.
- Lightly sprinkle some flour onto a surface. Then, roll each of the biscuits into a circle (about 6 inches in size). Cut each into four wedges.
- Brush the wedges lightly with the egg mixture. Top the wedges with one teaspoon of Nutella. Bring up the corners over the filling, and pinch edges tightly to seal.
- Heat oil to 350° F in a large iron skillet or deep fryer.
- In small batches, fry the donuts for one to two minutes until golden brown on all sides.
- Drain excess oil on paper towels and serve warm after dusting with some confectioners’ sugar.

- 1/2 cup water
- 1/2 cup 2% milk
- 1 tablespoon canola oil
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 large egg, room temperature
- 1/4 teaspoon grated lemon zest
- Additional oil for frying
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Method
- Take a large saucepan and add the water, milk, oil, and salt, bringing them to a boil. Add the flour all at once and keep stirring until a smooth ball is formed. Transfer it to a big bowl and allow it to stand for five minutes.
- Beat it on medium-high speed for a minute or until the dough softens. Add the egg and lemon zest and beat again for one to two minutes. Allow it to cool.
- Take a deep iron skillet or fryer and heat oil to 375° F. Insert a large star tip into your pastry bag, and fill it with dough. On a baking sheet, pipe the dough into strips of about 4 inches in size.
- Fry the skillets in the oil until golden brown. Drain excess oil on paper towels.
- Mix the sugar and cinnamon and sprinkle over the churros and serve them warm with some melted chocolate on the side.
